Sssh! Javelina! ... Not strictly a wild pig - a peccary. To be precise, a Collared peccary. Peccaries are relatives of the pigs, but not in the same family.
They live in herds and appear to thrive in the desert environment, where they've even found a way of dealing with cacti. They eat them spines and all!
